PLUS More Changes at New Day ūüôā

Good morning, New Day! ¬†Hope you had a wonderful Mother’s Day weekend.

I wanted to take the opportunity to share with you a progress report on the renovation of the kitchen area at New Day, and let you know about a couple of other exciting changes that are near.

As you may remember from a recent blog, or have otherwise learned since then, on April 7th a plumber cut into a pipe inside the ceiling of our office, destroying the cabinets and floor of the kitchen area.

Even though at many times I’ve been able to see the big picture and keep my spirits up about the reorganization that was thrust upon us, the whole situation has been quite stressful and taxing on me on a day to day basis. ¬†At times, it’s really interfered with my ability to be happy and comfortable at work, in addition to hindering my ability¬†to feel confident about introducing people to New Day.

I’m not gonna lie. ¬†It’s been really hard. AND it’s been going on soooo much longer than I ever would have guessed.

I can’t tell you how much I have appreciated your positive feedback when when you have noticed the progress that has been made (holes in the wall, ceiling, and repainting have all been handled by practice member Terry!), or let us know that the cosmetic deficiencies of the space have no impact on the care you receive and what it means to you in your life.

So here are where things stand, and 2 other (exciting)¬†changes in the practice you will want to know about. ¬†The flooring, counter, and cabinets still need to be replaced. ¬†Right now we are still waiting on a payment from the plumbing company’s insurance company so that we can pay the contractors. ¬†As soon as that happens, we can schedule the last phase of the work to begin. ¬†We are hoping hard that the work will be done by the end of the month.

Having the office feel ripped apart for the past 5 weeks has had us feeling like everything is on hold.  Now that there has been some progress and the end is in sight, we are able to pull the trigger on 2 other important changes that will improve the overall functionality of New Day.

1) New practice management software.  We have been waiting to implement a new practice management software that will greatly improve our ability to keep track of your appointments and payments, as well as my documentation of your visit notes, in an electronic format.  There is quite a steep learning curve on this, but once we are using the system we will be able to reorganize to the next level of care, effectiveness and service.

You don’t need to do anything special related to this change, except to know that it is happening and have patience with us as we transition. ¬†There are bound to be some initial glitches in such things as appointment reminder emails, and the like.

If you are someone who has been scheduling your appointments online using schedulicity, know that you will no longer be able to schedule online.  This is one unfortunate downside to onboarding the new system.  Instead of scheduling online, you will be scheduling in the office after your appointments, and/or calling and emailing Amber.

2) We are taking the opportunity of the messiness and flux in the physical space to pull the trigger on an improvement YEARS in the making. ¬†We will be constructing a small “exam room” separate from the main adjusting space. ¬†This room will function as an office for me (yay!), and place to have new patient appointments and follow ups. ¬†You can look forward to greater ease in scheduling reassessment and follow up visits, as well as benefitting from having a place to talk to myself in private when needed.

We are making the most of this period of reorganization and regrowth, and we can’t wait to experience the excitement of thesse improvements along with you! ¬†Enjoy your morning, and we look forward to seeing you at your sessions this week.
