So much to celebrate

Good morning, bright ones!

If you’ve been to New Day recently, you hopefully have noticed some exciting changes in the physical space of our office.  For one thing, we have new signage in our front windows!  Yes, after almost 5 years I got the “download,” so to speak, that it was time to use that prime window “real estate” to further light up our Lincoln Square neighborhood, and to further broadcast to the world what this care and community is all about to Chicago and the world.

I had delayed making the commitment to signage because it felt so permanent, and I wanted to get it right– words, look, tone, all of it.  Something that speaks to why we choose to take care of ourselves through ongoing care for the spine and nervous system.  It’s been really fun to see the reactions of our practice members to the signs, and we have even had a number of people in the neighborhood pop into our office, just to say hello and find out more about us!

Second, Amber and practice member Lydia Gray collaborated secretly, over the past several weeks, with Tammy, Diane, and all of our practice members to create a birthday surprise for me!  This surprise was in the form of decorations to the entry to the adjusting area.

This little surprise was waiting for me on Thursday morning, the day after my birthday, when I walked in to the office early to get some work done.  Suffice it to say, I was busy crying buckets during the time I thought I would be working, because I was so touched and moved by this display!  I am not being at all dramatic when I say that I think this is one of the nicest things anyone has ever done for me, and I can’t thank Amber, Lydia, Tammy, and Diane enough for their thoughtfulness.

I felt a little self conscious, honestly, leaving the decorations up and posting pictures of them on social media.  It felt a bit like I was bragging about myself, “Hey!  Look how much people like me! Aren’t I great?!”

However, beyond being extremely thoughtful, and just a downright eye-catching and lovely-looking display, I also think it shows how much love there is in this community just generally.  More and more as the years have gone on, New Day is a place where we form and nurture connection and relationship with others as we contribute to each other.

And this isn’t by accident.  Network Care, by helping us connect with the best and brightest experience of ourselves, allows us to be that and see that when we are with others.  We contribute more when we have the energy to do so, and Network Spinal Analysis facilitates this contribution by fostering energy efficiency in the body.

I can’t tell you how happy it makes me when I see practice members bringing friends and family into care, making friends with one another, talking and hugging each other when they run into each other at New Day (even when this is happening loudly in the adjusting room lol ;)).  Community truly is the highest stage of healing and it is a joy seeing this continue to unfold (Stage 12 in Donny Epstein’s 12 Stages of Healing).

There is a lot to celebrate at New Day’s 5 year anniversary, both now, specifically, as well as the accumulation of the past 5 years of experiences.  Some of you may remember other big changes over the past years that lead to our ability to serve our community better.  Amber starting with us full-time over 2 years ago was one of those big changes.  There was also taking down walls, putting up walls, and bringing in part-time staff.

There have also been “smaller” but no less monumental changes, in the form of YOU, our practice members, adding your unique flavors to the “soup,” so to speak, bringing your unique perspective and experience to share with us.  5 years into this process is the PERFECT time to celebrate together.  Won’t you join us?

Party will take place at New Day– located at 4308 N Lincoln Ave in Chicago

Our 5th year Anniversary Party will take place Saturday, April 14th from 12PM-3PM at New Day.  Besides being an open house where you can come and socialize with your fellow practice members and friends (what more do you need?) you will also get to eat yummies from River Valley Farmer’s Table, drink wine, and enter a raffle for a grand prize of a CMB waterproof bluetooth speaker!

We will also be doing a special “reveal” at 1PM in the form of an art installation in our adjusting space.  I recommend you be at the party at 1PM if possible!

Last but not least, Dr. Virginia will be on hand to do free mini-sessions of care with our practice members during the party 🙂

We truly hope that you will add to this experience by bringing your beautiful face and being!  And please, we encourage you to bring friends, family (child friendly event!), and anyone else you like.  This is a perfect opportunity to introduce people in your life to what this care and community are all about.

If it helps you, click here to connect to the event on Facebook , and please forward it along to anyone else you think might like to join us!  You can also pick up a flyer or two at your next appointment.

You can let us know at your next visit if you for sure plan to be there, to help us plan and so that we can help you with a reminder the week before the event.

5 years since the creation of New Day and I continue to be amazed, inspired, and dazzled by this community and what all of us are creating through it, together in the office and together in our lives.  I can’t wait for this opportunity to celebrate with you on April 14th!
