You can at least PRETEND it’s spring, with Young Living ;)

Happy spring, New Day oils enthusiasts!

And when I say “happy spring,” I of course do so with my voice dripping with irony.  Ah yes, spring in Chicago.  A time for wind.  A time for sleet.  A time for snow.  A time to wonder if you should bite the bullet and buy another pair of gloves.

We know it will get warm eventually, until then, some tips for comforting yourself like you would when it’s winter (but with some flowery, girly, spring smells!)

You know what my top recommendation is for coping with April in Chicago, oils wise?

JUVAFLEX!

Why, you might ask?  I mean, you already may know that Juvaflex has been the oil of the month at New Day at least twice.  That I use it on our practice members at New Day quite frequently.

That it’s part of our signature, “New Day Blend” that we sometimes diffuse in the office.

That you can use it to make delicious chia seed puddings, and even cocktails!

OK, you get it.  Juvaflex is great.  But why NOW, for Juvaflex?

Juvaflex is available for the member price of $28.75 (37.83 retail)

According to Traditional Chinese Medicine (which I know very little about and speak about very generally) when the seasons are changing, such as right now, we build up and hold onto a lot of anger and frustration, involving the liver.

Juvaflex is my GO TO oil for feelings of anger, frustration, and burden!  And aren’t we all feeling a tad angry, frustrated and burdened right now?  And what’s on the other side of that?  Happiness, freedom, and abundant energy!

Juvaflex contains Fennel, Geranium, Rosemary, Roman Chamomile, Blue Tansy, and Helichrysum essential oils. It smells great, and even tastes amazing (I’m telling you!).

Order through your member account, or pick one up at New Day on your next visit!

Young Living Bath and Shower Gel Base ($16 member price)

For some reason, even though I’ve been into oils and Young Living for 5 years, I had never tried making my own oil-based shower gels with their shower gel base!

It was perfect timing.  Desperate to smell the smells of spring, I got my hands on this product and was super pumped to create my own shower gel with Inner Child essential oil blend (if you haven’t smelled it, think flowery, girly, with citrus).

Where the plan went awry is that I was only able to mix 5 drops of Inner Child with the shower gel.  My little bottle was almost empty and that’s all I could get!

The product does have it’s own “soapy” smell, and I would guess that at least 8 drops would have been needed to properly “scent” the bottle.  So now, when I use it, I catch a hint of Inner Child along with a plain soap smell.

The good news: The gel base has a great, silky consistency, and really foams up into a lather very easily.  It feels luxurious!  I will DEFINITELY continue using Shower Gel Base for my own concoctions in the future.

Awaken is $21 wholesale (YES! A BARGAIN) and $27.63 retail

Meet my new love!  The perfectly named, for a Network Care practice, AWAKEN!

Somehow, I had never smelled this oil before.  Yes, that’s part of the magic of Young Living.  Still so much more to discover even after 5 years and a huge tray of oils on my desk in the adjusting room!

Luckily, Amber brought this to my attention, bringing it in to New Day and graciously letting me use it liberally, and use it on our practice members, for a couple of days.

What are the ingredients of Awaken?

WHOA!!

We will be featuring Awaken as our Essential Oil of the Month at New Day in May, so if you’re not a member you’ll be able to grab one from us then.

Will it unseat White Angelica as my all-time-top-favorite-oil-ever?! Only time will tell.  I will say though that compared to White Angelica, the price is right 😉

New arrangement for the New Day oils store!

Have you noticed this little pretty on one of your recent visits?

After 2 years of having oils available for purchase in the New Day front office, it was time for a rearrangement!  Many of you have commented that you love thenew look and wonder where we got this shelf from.

I ordered it on Etsy from https://www.etsy.com/shop/HisHersWoodworking

It took several weeks, as they make the items to order, but it was totally worth it!  I’m thinking of ordering one for home too 🙂

Ready to become a Young Living member?

If you’re reading this newsletter (arms crossed) thinking:

“Ok. Young Living membership MIGHT be for me.  But what’s the catch?!”

Young Living membership is almost definitely for you if:

  1. You love Young Living essential oils
  2. You want to buy more than 2-3 oils per year and have it be cost effective
  3. You would be excited to receive an essential oil diffuser and 10 essential oils in the mail.

So, what would possibly stop a person from joining
Young Living?!

Look, I am not always the person to talk to if you want a first-person account of how someone overcame fear and cynicism in order to try something new (I basically signed up for Young Living at the first available opportunity after smelling White Angelica;))

But I think I CAN speak to the fear that you will end up regretting this decision, because there is some catch that will cost you more money down the line.

Also, there’s the fear of being “salesy” and getting swept up in the unknown world and caught up with the “fever” of network marketing.

It costs about $160 to join Young Living. For this investment you get 10 oils and a diffuser!  It’s amazing!!

Now let me get the important part out of the way by speaking directly to your concerns:

THERE IS NO MONTHLY AUTOSHIP, OR OTHERWISE FUTURE UNWANTED COST!

I put this in caps not to yell at you, but to have you NOT FORGET this important fact.

To maintain your membership, you must make at least 1 order per year of $50 or more.

And when it comes to network marketing, let me tell you.  Making money doing Young Living was at the very bottom of my list of reasons for joining as a member.  I really just loved these oils!

However, I am happy to share with you that after 5 years of doing little more than sending out a couple of emails per year, and using oils as I normally would personally and with New Day practice members during their adjustments and at workshops, I have made a (small) commission every month over the past year.

This commission is in addition to the income from selling oils through the NewDay oil store. If you have questions about the business side of Young Living, please ask me! I’d love to be in conversation with you around it.

Ready??  The steps for joining Young Living are as follows:

  1. Go to https://www.youngliving.com/en_US
  2. Click on “Become a Member” on the top right corner of the screen
  3. Make sure the box on the left that says “become a member” is checked
  4. Check the box on the right that says “I was referred by a Young Living Member” and enter the member number 1425256 in both the sponsor ID and the enroller ID
  5. Choose your premium starter kit
  6. Get excited for your kit to arrive!

One last thing!

I have a gift for you, when you decide that this month is the month to finally do what you’ve probably been wanting to do anyway (join Young Living!)

If all these reasons to join weren’t great enough, I will also gift you one FREE bottle of Valor Essential Oil Blend ($52.30 retail!)

If you’ve been waiting to buy Valor because it’s too freakin’ expensive (but this is VALOR we’re talking about, for chrissakes!) this is the PERFECT time to move forward.

Check out how these Young Living lovers are using oils in their business!

New Day practice member Lindsay Hopkins, and former practice member Carrie Drapac (she lives in LA now!) have created their own website and lifestyle business called Acts of Ritual.

Acts of Ritual (go to site by clicking here) is a place to find a series of tools to assist you in crafting creative acts of ritual for self-care, self-reflection, and transformation. They share meditation, somatic connection, ritual experiences, and invite you to “explore that which is internal and eternal.”

Carrie and Lindsay have created a series of oil blends, using Young Living oils, to assist their community in creating their own ritual experiences. These include the fragrant “Full Moon” and “New Moon” blends!

We will be featuring Acts of Ritual’s oil blends at New Day as our April oil of the month!  Hope the oils and learning about Lindsay and Carrie inspire you to play with your oils and create your own rituals, or even to use oils to fuel your entrepreneurial aspirations!
